STOW, OH. – The building envelope engineering and consulting firm of Wheaton & Sprague, (WS) is pleased to announce the hiring of M. Scott Forsberg as Senior Designer for its Bloomington, Minnesota office. Having operated as a satellite office throughout 2010, Wheaton & Sprague has assembled an engineering and design / drafting team with the ability to produce full-service engineering services for our building envelope clients through this Minnesota office beginning in 2011.

Scott is an accomplished system designer with over twenty years’ experience, who has worked in both the commercial curtain wall industry and the residential construction industry, having significant experience with such acclaimed curtain wall companies as Enclos Corporation out of Eagan, Minnesota.

At Wheaton & Sprague, Scott will be responsible for presale design concepts and design drawings for new and custom curtain wall and other exterior cladding systems; research and development of products for curtain wall manufacturers; proposal presentations; profile drawings, die drawings and production shop drawings. For the last nine years, Scott has been the sole proprietor of MSF Design, LLC in Minnesota. Prior to running his own firm, Scott was employed for many years with Enclos Corporation of Eagan, Minnesota.

When not designing the latest architectural curtain wall masterpiece, Scott spends time with his wife Patty of 7yrs., who is an Occupational Therapist specializing in Vestibular Rehabilitation, and his two boys:  David, age 6, and Tommy age 4. Scott reflects that it is a good thing his wife is more of a tomboy type being surrounded by 3 males who all act like kids!

Scott truly enjoys spending non-work time playing with his two sons…building Thomas the Train track layouts with his 4yr. old (the construction guy in him comes in handy there) and playing sports with his 6yr. old, who is into hockey, t-ball, soccer and takes Karate classes.

Although the time to do it is little, hobbies include building and modifying high performance personal watercraft in the summer, and skating and snowmobiling in the winter. A good sports game on TV once in awhile may also be on the agenda once the kids are in bed.

Scott gives back to his beloved Twin Cities by contributing to the Habitat for Humanity program locally by drawing home construction documents and providing labor at sites. He has also volunteered at Minnesota’s Wildlife and Rehabilitation Center by caring for injured animals in order to return them to the wild.

According to John Wheaton, P.E., LEED AP and President of the firm of Wheaton Sprague, “the hiring of Scott Forsberg continues to grow our position within the building envelope industry as a premiere firm that can accomplish the intricate needs of the monumental custom curtain wall client. With his addition, Wheaton Sprague will be able to provide full-service teams for large scale projects in both Stow, Ohio and Bloomington, Minnesota. Providing continuing advancements in blast engineering, thermal analysis, and building information modeling, we are positioning ourselves to become a total building envelope resource for our clients.”
