OHIO: Wheaton Sprague, (WS), announces the addition of Mr. Tom Balent, EI, Senior Engineer, to its Building Envelope Staff. Mr. Balent is a skilled design professional in the cladding industry, with experience in all types of standard and custom curtain wall applications, point fixed glass walls, windows and skylights. Balent rejoins his former employer, having gained valuable experience with YKK, Traco and Old Castle Glass. Balent will provide structural engineering, design, and technical support to the Building Envelope Division, for monumental and standard curtain wall clients, panel clients and stone and specialty clients. Tom is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a Structural Concentration. Tom will work toward his P.E. license while in the employ of WS.

WS is also pleased to announce the promotion of Neil Unger, P.E., M.B.A as Project Engineer II for the commercial skylight market segment under the firm’s Building Envelope Division. Neil will provide project management, project engineering, system design and product engineering applications work for commercial and residential skylight, slope wall, and conservatory clients.

Mr. Unger has an Architectural Engineering degree from Penn State University, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering, and received his Masters of Business Administration from Cleveland State University.

WS is a complete full-service structural engineering company offering expert building envelope consulting and engineering along with traditional building structural engineering services to clients locally, regionally, and nationally. The firm houses three divisions: Building Envelope, Building Structures, and Building Forensics. The new Commercial Skylight market segment will be under the Building Envelope division.
