Schematic Design/Design Development In this phase of work, WSE provides technical information, clarification, detail and direction to assist the project team in developing cost effective solutions and technical specifications for building envelope systems that are suited to the overall building design.WSE will provide valuable input with respect to the building envelope constructability and design compatibility with other building elements.
Construction Documents In this phase of work, WSE provides technical information, code evaluation, wind tunnel test evaluation, design criteria, clarifications, detail and direction to assist the project team in finalizing cost effective solutions and technical specifications for building envelope systems that are suited to the overall building design.WSE will ensure that the project team and trade contract bidders are presented a defined scope and constructible design for the building envelope.
Peer Review of Construction Documents Prepared by Others - In this phase of work, WSE provides a technical review of documents prepared by others.Comments, concerns and recommendations are made to assist in the finalization of a defined scope and constructible design for the building envelope.
Bidding and Negotiation In this phase of work, WSE will assist in the evaluation of the bids and proposals from the trade contractors, and will look to see that the proposals are reflective of the specified criteria, and appropriate for the project.WSE will also study and consider value engineering proposals or specific exclusions or qualifications.In this way, the project team will be enabled to fully evaluate each proposal or VE item on both its technical merit and economic impact.
Performance Mock-Up Testing Services In this phase of work, WSE will provide a test procedure, review and evaluate the mock-up design and physical testing that are applicable to the building project, and will provide an opinion as to conformance with the specified criteria.WSE will also review as-built drawings so that remedial details as a result of failed testing are applied to the project shop drawings and subsequent field observations.The project team will receive a detailed report with photographs as documented evidence of testing and remedial procedures.
Submittal Reviews In this phase of work, WSE will review the shop drawings, structural calculations and product data for conformance to the specified criteria and design intent.WSE will flag and comment on all details, calculations or product data that do not conform. All comments and recommendations will be based on technical merits.
Factory Observations In this phase of work, WSE will periodically observe fabrication and assembly conditions, methods and techniques, and flag any non-conforming items.For each and every factory observation, the project team will receive a detailed report with photographs as documented evidence of conforming and/or non-conforming work observed and pending remedial procedures.
Site Observations In this phase of work, WSE will periodically observe building envelope installation conditions and techniques, and flag any non-conforming items.WSE will also witness all field water testing and assure that the testing complies with the specified requirements.For each and every field observation, the project team will receive a detailed report with photographs as documented evidence of conforming and/or non-conforming installation observed, results of field water testing observed and pending remedial procedures.
Expert Witness Testimony WSE provides litigation support as an expert professional in the resolution of construction claim disputes arising from construction deficiencies, design deficiencies, materials failures, water leakage, construction delay, and accidents.
Construction Claims & Change Order Review WSE provides review and analysis to report findings for any construction claim received regarding the building envelope. WSE provides professional review of any change order documents to determine merit, necessity and financial feasibility.
Forensic Investigation of Water Infiltration, Sealant Failure, Unusual Glass Breakage and Other Modes of Exterior Building Envelope Failures WSE will examine the exterior faηade including curtain wall, windows, storefronts, panels, precast, granite, marble, brick, caulking and other building elements for deterioration and performance issues.WSE will conduct testing and provide a written analysis regarding results and recommendations.
