Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
Wheaton Sprague Engineering (WS), was hired by Pelligra and Architects of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to document the structural facade supports regarding the removal of the existing marble facade and replacment with a new brick and EIFS facade, on this 4-story downtown office building.
WS also provided engineering for the replacement system, designing the metal stud backup and supports.
WS additionally provided field observations during construction. The facade projected area was 3,200 square feet, and consisted of light-gage metal studs, pre-cast stone, face brick, and storefront glass. On a subsequent project, WS provided engineering to modify structural steel bracing and provide an opening in an exterior wall to allow access to a new automated teller machine. W&S also reviewed the existing floor slab over the basement and sidewalk vault area to verify that it could carry the weight of the new ATM.
