Wheaton Sprague Engineering Introduces New Senior Staff Specialist
STOW, OH. – Wheaton Sprague Engineering, Inc. (WS) is pleased to announce the hiring of Kevin Cole, P.E., as Senior Staff Specialist. Mr. Cole will be providing senior technical leadership in design, consultation, and engineering for building envelope systems for the clients of Wheaton Sprague Engineering.
Mr. Cole brings 26 years of experience in the design, engineering, fabrication, assembly, and installation of custom and standard curtain wall and window systems for high-rise, mid-rise and low-rise buildings.
Formerly as Director of Design for Enclos Corporation of Eagan, MN., one of the largest specialty contractors in the U.S., Kevin has been responsible for the curtain wall design of some of the most distinguished buildings in the United States, designed by some of the most prestigious Architects in the world.
Kevin’s duties for WS will include work on all aspects of curtain wall and cladding system performance, including air, water, thermal, and structural (wind and blast) considerations.

When Kevin isn’t designing the
next signature architectural curtain wall or running calcs to his hearts’
content, you can find him enjoying his time with his wife of 29 years and his
three sons at home in Minnesota. He can regularly be found cheering on the Cardinal and Gold of Iowa State, Kevin's Alma Mater. Not only is Kevin an alum, but his wife Patty of 29 years is an alum, her father is an alum, and two of Kevin’s sons are presently at Iowa
State. Kevin's third son is a senior in high school in Minnesota.
Conversation is never dull around the Cole household. Patty is also a registered structural
engineer and has served at a firm for many years in the twin cities area.
Kevin also enjoys spectator sports,
scouting and the outdoors. He has been an adult leader in his son’s Boy Scout Troop
for 10 years, and is currently serving as Scout Master. Two of Kevin's three sons have attained the high rank of Eagle Scout, and the third one is on his way. Kevin likes to golf, but
does not do it well. Letting the client win 'shouldn't be a problem', according to Kevin.
Says Kevin of his new position with Wheaton Sprague, "I am very excited to again be providing engineering and design consulting services to the curtian wall industry. The professionals at Wheaton Sprague provide impressive expertise in all aspects of curtain wall engineering, design and consulting, which will motivate me to continue to sharpen my skills in a wide range of materials, concepts, and systems."
