Wheaton Sprague Introduces Senior
Engineer, Joel Ray, P.E.
for growing Minnesota Branch
STOW, OH. – The building envelope engineering and consulting firm of Wheaton & Sprague, (WS) is pleased to announce the hiring of Joel D. Ray, P.E., as Senior Engineer for its Bloomington, Minnesota office. Having operated as a satellite office throughout 2010, Wheaton & Sprague has assembled an engineering and design / drafting team with the ability to produce full-service engineering services for our building envelope clients from the Minnesota office.
Most recently, Joel was employed by Larson Engineering, Inc. in White Bear Lake, Minnesota as Senior Project Manager in the Curtain wall Department. His entire structural engineering career has been in the curtain wall industry. He is well-trained in the special intricacies of the curtain wall industry, including the area of blast analysis and blast engineering. He comes to Wheaton & Sprague with an excellent track record of client care.
As Senior Engineer, Joel will perform structural engineering services including blast and traditional engineering services for curtain wall, panel systems, stone systems, as well as other facade types and architectural components of the building envelope.
Notable projects on which Joel has performed significant work include: Wynn Resort – Las Vegas, NV, The Palms Resort – Las Vegas, NV, Duke Energy Center – Charlotte, NC, GM World Headquarters, Minneapolis, MN, and the Minnesota Twin Wind Veil – Minneapolis, MN.
Joel has been married to his wife Amy for 12 years, and together they have 5 children ranging from 5 to 9 years old. While Joel does enjoy vegetable gardening, with 5 kids that close in age, his only dedicated hobby is sleep, when permitted, but always less than he would like.
