Wheaton & Sprague Engineering, (W&S) was hired by Kanalco Ltd., to provide complete structural calculations, related structural coordination and design for the panel wall system and the connections to the backup structure. Panels are solid aluminum sheet used in vertical panel and soffit applications. Kanalco Ltd., rainscreen panel systems features a dynamic line of Rainscreen Wall Systems including Reynobond and Plate Panels, circular Column and Beam Covers, Cornices and Ornamental fabrications.
Developed by Opus East, 100 M street is a 12-story Class A office building with ground floor retail space located at the corner of 1st and M Streets, SE, adjacent to the Navy Yard Metro Station, across the street from the 1.2 million square-foot Department of Transportation headquarters, and within walking distance of Nationals Park. The building features 225,000 square foot of office space, and 15,000 square foot of retail space.
The design features windows on all four sides, with multiple corner offices, and incorporates outdoor spaces for occupants including a roof-top deck and a ground-level landscaped plaza for dining.
